Is Pocket Trader real trading or paper trading?

Paper trading. Orders fill in the built-in simulator or go to an Alpaca paper account, and the Alpaca connection is hard-coded to Alpaca's paper endpoint. No real money is at risk, and live trading is not available.

Does it use real market data?

Accepted Answer

US symbols use real quotes from the Alpaca IEX feed, refreshed every 5 seconds, and charts use real OHLCV bars when the Alpaca connection is configured. TSX symbols are simulated because Alpaca does not cover Canadian listings. The top bar always shows LIVE US QUOTES or SIMULATED PRICES.

Which broker can I connect to?

Alpaca paper trading. The Alpaca tab shows your paper equity, cash, buying power, positions and recent orders. The ROUTE switch sends market, limit and stop orders for US symbols from the execution deck to Alpaca paper; buys carry your stop and target as a bracket order.

How do limit and stop orders work in the simulator?

They rest as working orders. A limit buy fills once the ask reaches the limit and a limit sell once the bid reaches it, at the better price. A stop triggers when the last price crosses it and fills at the bid or ask. Buys are re-checked against cash at fill time.

Is my workspace saved between devices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After sign-in, your paper cash, positions, orders, journal, price alerts, risk limits and currency preference save to PostgreSQL about 1.5 seconds after a change and restore on every device. The top bar shows SAVED TO ACCOUNT, SAVING or NOT SAVED.

Which risk controls are included?

The terminal checks orders against 4x intraday buying power, modeled on FINRA Rule 4210, and against your risk limits. A kill switch blocks new orders, and it applies on the Alpaca route as well as the simulator.

Can I use Pocket Trader on mobile devices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The web terminal adapts to phone screens with a thumb-reach execution deck, one-tap order toggles and quantity steppers, and it expands to a multi-monitor layout with pop-out windows on desktop.

Is Pocket Trader investment advice?

Accepted Answer

No. It is self-directed practice and analytics software and does not give personalized recommendations. Forecasts, backtests and dark pool, options and voice modules are demonstrations and use simulated data. Trading carries a substantial risk of loss.

Who can access the terminal today?

Accepted Answer

The landing page is public. Access to the signed-in terminal is currently limited to the account owner, and public registration is closed.
